On Thursday the 13th of July a Women was rescued from The River Nith in Dumfries by Emergency services. The incident took place just after lunch time, next to the Devorgilla Bridge at the Whitesands area.
River Rescue units from Nith Inshore rescue plus Fire and Rescue, Police and Ambulance personnel were all in attendance during the dramatic rescue.
The women was found to be hanging onto a log, whilst the rescuers secured here, and brought her back to dry land, it is unknown how the women had got into the water.
The women was taken to hospital afterwards to be checked over.
